Ishida Demonstrates Packing Line Solutions
The integrated weighing and tray sealing system enables both fresh and frozen products to be handled with excellent line efficiency. Output is up to 120 trays per minute, with minimal waste.
The system combines Ishida’s high speed RS-216 multihead weigher with the company’s award winning QX-1100 tray sealer. The RS-216 delivers products in accurate and consistent portions to a sophisticated tray tracking and filling system, which deposits the portions neatly into the trays. The filled trays are then sealed by the QX-1100 tray sealer, which features double-track configuration and the use of servo motors to ensure maximum efficiency. In addition, sealing can be carried out with an inside cut profile to enhance pack presentation.
Further benefits of the line are low manpower and maintenance requirements, and close to zero downtime levels.
Ishida’s new range of ‘Screw Feed’ multihead weighers, have been developed for the fully automatic handling of fresh, sticky products such as meat, poultry and seafood.
Because of the very sticky nature of these products, most current weighing systems are either manual or based on a linear design that relies on operators to direct and control the supply and flow of product. The Ishida Screw Feed design, by comparison, utilises the familiar circular multihead weigher layout but incorporates unique rotating corkscrews to replace the traditionally used radial feed troughs. The use of these screws provides a powerful, controlled and fully automatic product feed to the pool and weigh hoppers.
Using Ishida’s latest advanced R series weighing technology, weighing speeds and accuracy show an improvement of approximately 20% compared with the best linear weighing systems.
The new Ishida Data Capture System (IDCS), which can link up to 100 of the company’s DACS checkweighers, is a user-friendly, secure software programme that offers an extensive range of reporting options to enable production managers to employ state-of-the-art monitoring for legislative compliance whilst also identifying cost saving opportunities, minimising product giveaway and improving production efficiencies.
Data can be analysed by batch, shift, operator, product or machine, with fully customised reports, and is accessed either on-site or remotely using secure Ethernet connections.
The Ishida IX-GA X-ray system is ideal for detecting foreign bodies – including aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, bones and shells – in a variety of packed and unpacked fresh food products including meat, poultry, fish and ready meals, as well as dry and frozen foods.
Ishida’s unique self-learning Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology offers maximum detection sensitivity and reliability. The machine can detect impurities down to 0.3mm in size and can also spot missing items or damaged products.
