X-Ray Inspection Systems
X-Ray inspection is generally acknowledged to be superior to metal detection in excluding metallic contamination from food products such as meat, poultry and fish. It also picks up other, arguably more common, food contaminants such as bone fragments, glass, shell, stone and many types of plastic and rubber.
Unlike metal detection, it can pinpoint the location of the contaminating particle. It is also a useful quality control tool, enabling product shape, thickness and integrity to be checked.
Ishida has been supplying X-ray inspection systems for over ten years, and manufacturing its own since 2004, creating an installed base of over 2,000 machines.
This rapid growth is driven by increasing interest in the wider margin of safety and certainty offered by X-ray detection in preventing food contamination, and by the fact that Ishida now offers world-beating technology in this field.
