Packing line equipment specialist Ishida Europe has appointed Oliver Blaha as general manager of Ishida GmbH, responsible for the company’s weighing, packing and inspection solutions business in Germany and Austria.
Mr Blaha joins from Crown Gabelstapler GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer of forklift trucks, where he was regional manager for southern and eastern Germany.
In his new role, Mr Blaha will be seeking to further build Ishida’s presence in the important German and Austrian markets and to take the company to a market leading position within the next few years. Key elements of his strategy will include closer geographical links with customers, supported by an expanded sales and service network.
“To give one example, we are going to give the Ishida site in Hamburg a major boost because many of our customers in the food industry are based in northern Germany,” he explains. “By working closely together with our German head office in Schwäbisch-Hall, we are going to be even stronger and will be forging closer links with the market and our business partners.”
Taking on projects forms an important part of Oliver Blaha’s life outside work as well. Alongside his family commitments, he also volunteers as the chairman of a sports club and as part of a local community development initiative.
