Accreditation Highlights Ishida’s Fair Pay Commitment

09 Nov 2020

Weighing, inspection and packing line solutions specialist Ishida Europe has received accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation, confirming that the company pays the independently calculated Real Living Wage rates to all its employees.

The Real Living Wage differs from the government’s National Living Wage because it is based on what people need to get by, rather than the government minimum, and is therefore the only calculation that fully takes into account the cost of living. Over 200,000 people have already received a pay rise as a result of the accreditation.

“We are really proud of our colleagues and we have always been committed to ensuring that their hard work is recognised and rewarded,” said Sarah Hughes, Ishida Europe’s Human Resources Director.

“We are delighted to be part of this initiative that provides an appropriate benchmark for fair and responsible pay.”

The Living Wage Foundation represents over 6,500 UK businesses of varying sizes and many different industries in both the public and private sectors, including one third of FTSE 100 companies, all of which believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The foundation coordinates the announcement of the Real Living Wage each November, based on the best available evidence about living standards in London and the UK. It also provides advice and support to employers and service providers in the implementation of the Living Wage rates.
