The President of Ishida, Mr. Takahide Ishida visited the Ishida European HQ in Birmingham, UK in December. This was an auspicious occasion for the whole team in the UK and a chance to showcase progress made across the EMEA region and discuss future plans.
Mr. Takahide Ishida represents the fifth generation of the Ishida family to lead the company which was founded in Kyoto, Japan, in 1893. Ishida is now a global company with a turnover in excess of $1 billion and more than 3500 employees across the globe.
The visit included a site tour of our four facilities in Birmingham. Along the way, he met with many colleagues from across a range of departments and he was welcomed across the business and spent considerable time speaking with teams about key initiatives and was impressed with the progress that is being made.
The business has grown since Mr. Takahide last visited, with now over 700 employees across EMEA and with sites across 15 countries in the region. The visit also coincided with the 50-year anniversary of Ishida introducing the world’s first Multihead weigher for a green pepper application in Japan in 1972. This innovation revolutionised the food packaging industry and today Ishida offers full end to end packaging line solutions, from weighing, quality control, packing and Industry 4.0.
Mr. Takahide thanked the team for their hard work and commitment and reinforced the unique Ishida philosophy, the Three-Way Harmony. Good for customers, good for society, and good for Ishida.
