Ishida Europe apprentice Georgina Rhodes has been Highly Commended in the Engineering Apprentice: Final Year category at the recent Midlands and East Region Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2020.
This annual event recognises manufacturers and their apprentices who have done exceptional work in their sector, and celebrates their commitment, dedication and resilience.
Georgina was nominated for the award for the outstanding contribution she has made to Ishida Europe during her four-year apprenticeship. Among her many achievements she is part of the steering group for Apprentice Exchange and has been a key participant in the development of a STEM promotion group.
In addition, Georgina has helped to promote the Ishida apprentice scheme at many external events as well as supporting new apprentices during their introduction to the company. This has included creating both an induction programme and a work experience plan for the Design department.
Georgina’s own skills were also recognised during the early part of her training when she received the EEF (the previous name for Make UK) Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Academic Subject in November 2017.
