Ishida Europe has announced the appointment of Takayo Motegi as its new Managing Director, succeeding Dave Tiso, who has led the business since 2015.
Takayo Motegi brings over 30 years of sales experience within the Ishida Group to the role, with a deep understanding of the food industry and Ishida’s global operations, customer-focused culture, and long-term strategic vision.
The appointment sees Dave Tiso take the role of Chairman where he will continue to provide the same calibre of strategic guidance to the business that saw him oversee successive record years of performance during his 11-year tenure as managing director.
Having held a number of senior leadership positions within the business, including six years as managing director of Ishida Thailand, Takayo has built a strong reputation for driving growth through customer connection and engagement. As a result, Takayo has developed an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by businesses operating across the entire breadth of the food manufacturing and -packaging industry.
In his new role, Takayo will be responsible for implementing the Japanese-headquartered business’s global strategy across EMEA, while further enhancing the company's ability to respond to the ever-evolving requirements for automated weighing, packing and quality control solutions, supporting Industry 4.0 and next generation manufacturing needs.
Commenting on his appointment, Takayo Motegi said: “I am honoured to be appointed as Managing Director of Ishida Europe. The company has a proud history of innovation, customer partnership and excellence, and I look forward to working with our talented teams across the regions to build on the strong foundations built by Dave over the last 11 years.
“During my time at Ishida to date, I have committed to fostering close relationships with our customers and developing an intimate understanding of the solutions they need, which is something I will continue to promote as I lead the business into the future.
Dave Tiso added: “It has been a privilege to lead Ishida Europe over the past 11 years. I’m proud of everything the business achieved during my time as managing director and look forward to seeing Takayo build on what I believe are some very strong foundations for further growth.”
